At Goffs School the KS3 curriculum is taught over two years, Year 7 and 8. In planning the KS3 curriculum we aim to:

  • Ensure that learning is challenging, engaging and enjoyable
  • Build on what children have been learning in Primary school
  • Help our students to develop the skills and understanding they will need for KS4 study and for adult life

For each subject, a 'Curriculum Grid' shows what students will be learning each half-term. Success criteria are listed from Band 1(I) to Band 5(V), with Band V representing the most challenging success criteria.

Along with the 'How To Support Your Child With Learning' booklet, these curriculum grids allow you to see what your son/daughter will be learning each half-term. Curriculum grids for each subject are below:

Art Computing
Drama English
Geography History
Maths MFL
Music PE
RS Science

Attendance Targets

All students have now been set a minimum and aspirational target, this is now in their planners in the form of a sticker. This will be monitored closely at all times, should there be any concerns, you will be invited to come in to discuss what support we can offer to improve your child's attendance.

Your child will be eligible to a trip to Thorpe Park as a reward for reaching their attendance target. Please continue to support your child to attend school regularly and on time. Thank you for your ongoing support.
